On 03/20/2024 at approximately 2121 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a REDDI southbound on the Sterling Highway near mile marker 128. AST responded and subsequently performed a traffic stop of the vehicle near mile marker 140. The driver was identified as Scott Liska, age 66 of Anchorage. Liska was placed under arrest for driving while under the influence of alcohol. Liska was transported to Homer Jail, where he received an additional charge of refusal. Bail was set at his own recognizance.

On 03/21/24 at 1755 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to an address in Wasilla for the report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed that Scott Hansen, age 37 of Wasilla, had assaulted and destroyed property of someone with whom he has a domestic relationship with. Scott was arrested for assault 4 x2, criminal mischief 4, and unlawful contact 2. He was transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial where he was held without bail.

On 3/20/2024 at approximately 1809 hours, AST received a report that William Sanderlin age 41 of Wasilla was violating a long-term protective order while at Matsu Pre-trial. An investigation led to the arrest of William where he was charged for violating a domestic violence protective order and unlawful contact. William was remanded at Matsu Pre-trial where he was held without bail.

On 3/20/2024 at approximately 2333 hours, AST was requested to patrol the area of King Arthur Dr. and Carrillo Cir. following a report of a suspicious vehicle. While patrolling the area, Dallan Barney a 27-year-old male of Wasilla was contacted in a vehicle on White Knight Dr. A routine check showed Dallan had an active warrant for failure to appear for the original charge of VCOR. Dallan was arrested and remanded at Matsu Pre-trial where he was held on a $1,000.00 cash appearance bail.

On March 21st, 2024, at approximately 0759 hours Fairbanks AST responded to a residence in the area of Lakeview Terrace for the report of a disturbance. Investigation found Kiaha Vanreenan, age 19 of Fairbanks, had committed the crime of Assault in the Fourth Degree and violated conditions of her probation. She was arrested and remanded to FCC for one count Assault 4 and Probation Violation.

On 03/20/2024 at approximately 1946 hours, Alaska State Troopers (AST) received a report of a deceased person in Eagle, Alaska. Tok Troopers contacted the involved parties and initiated a report of the death. Due to Taylor Hwy. not being open and no charters available at the time of the initial report AST responded on 03/21/2024. Investigation revealed no suspicion of foul play, and the deceased was identified as Randy L. Smith of Fairbanks, age 55. The State Medical Examiner’s Office in Anchorage was contacted, and the death was reported. Smith’s remains were released to the family and next of kin elected to arrange for local burial.

On March 16, 2024, at 5:43 am, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of a death in Nunam Iqua. Troopers responded to the community to investigate the death. A preliminary investigation determined that 30-year-old Nunam Iqua resident Joan Camille was reported as deceased by an adult male who she was traveling with between Nunam Iqua and Emmonak by snowmachine. The circumstances surrounding Camille’s death was suspicious and her body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. On March 19, 2024, following a thorough investigation by Alaska Bureau of Investigation, Western Major Crimes Unit, 25-year-old Fredrick Abraham of Nunam Iqua was arrested for Murder 2, Negligent Homicide, Assault 1, and Assault 3 by priors. Next of kin for Camille was notified.

On 03-21-24, at around 1415 hours, Alaska State Troopers assigned to the Highway Interdiction Team, Palmer Patrol, AWT and PED Officers located Carl J. Clark, age 46, of Eagle River at a residence on Raven Dr. Carl was known to AST to have multiple active warrants for his arrest. Carl was taken into custody without incident and arrested on his four active warrants for the original charges of Fail to stop 1st, Criminal Mischief in the 5th, MIW3 x3, Escape 3, VCOR, Burglary 1 and MIW 5. Carl total bail was $22,000 plus multiple requirements for a court approved third party and to be seen by the court prior to release. Carl also provided a false name upon contact and was additionally charged with false report when being served with an arrest warrant. Carl was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was held on the warrants pending arraignment.
